140 EspionagemIndustrial

140 RenatusCartesiusBlogger

Centro de espionagem Ango-Americano novamente in the the cross-hairs.

"The activities of GCHQ Bude usually remain classified, however, partly in response to concerns expressed by some EU member states that Morwenstow is responsible for industrial espionage and the interception of civilian communications, a report by the European Parliament (referenced below) was made public in 2001 that provides some details about the station.

The Intelligence Services Act 1994 grants GCHQ the power "to monitor or interfere with electromagnetic, acoustic and other emissions and any equipment producing such emissions and to obtain and provide information derived from or related to such emissions or equipment." This includes Blackberry Messenger and audio messages.[1]"

Lol.

O prestigiado matutino The Guardian vem novamente à carga com novas suspeitas.

Concern grows over GCHQ Prism spying allegations

Home Secretary Theresa May is coming under pressure to investigate claims Britain's electronic listening post GCHQ has been gathering data through a secret US spy programme.
Keith Vaz, chairman of the home affairs committee, said the allegations were "chilling".
According to The Guardian, GCHQ had access to data covertly gathered from leading internet firms in the US.
GCHQ said it operated within a "strict legal and policy framework".
The Guardian says it has obtained documents showing that the secret listening post, based at Cheltenham, had access to the Prism system, set up by America's National Security Agency (NSA), since at least June 2010.
'Astonished'
The documents were said to show that the British agency had generated 197 intelligence reports through the system in the 12 months to May 2012 - a 137% increase on the previous year.
The newspaper said that the Prism programme appeared to allow GCHQ to circumvent the formal legal process required to obtain personal material, such as emails, photographs and videos, from internet companies based outside the UK.
Labour MP Keith Vaz, said: "I am astonished by these revelations which could involve the data of thousands of Britons.
"The most chilling aspect is that ordinary American citizens and potentially British citizens too were apparently unaware that their phone and online interactions could be watched.
"This seems to be the Snooper's Charter by the back door. I shall be writing to the home secretary asking for a full explanation."
The UK's data protection watchdog the information commissioner, also raised concerns about the report.
"There are real issues about the extent to which US law enforcement agencies can access personal data of UK and other European citizens," the watchdog statement said in a statement.
"Aspects of US law under which companies can be compelled to provide information to US agencies potentially conflict with European data protection law, including the UK's own Data Protection Act.
"The ICO has raised this with its European counterparts, and the issue is being considered by the European Commission, who are in discussions with the US government."

Bem, o Cartesius ergo sum duvida do verdadeiro paradeiro do Eduardo.

É preciso  ser mesmo saloio para não saber that Big Brother is watching YOU, to a much greater extent than  Orwell imagined in 1984 written in the thirties. Oops! I´m writing in English when I should be writing in Portuguese. OK, then. This is for the UK and Angloworld  citizens who might think that G Orwell was a footballer, or a TV anchor man. Well he worked for the BiBiCi.

Spy leaker Edward Snowden 'vows to fight extradition'

Breaking news
Edward Snowden, the ex-CIA employee who leaked secret US surveillance details, has vowed to fight any attempt to extradite him from Hong Kong.
Mr Snowden told the South China Morning Post that he was "neither traitor nor hero. I'm an American".
It is the first interview he has given since leaving his hotel room in Hong Kong on Monday.
His leaks led to revelations that the US is systematically seizing vast amounts of phone and web data.
Mr Snowden left Hawaii for Hong Kong shortly before the highly sensitive leaks surfaced.
"I am not here to hide from justice; I am here to reveal criminality," Mr Snowden told the Post.
"My intention is to ask the courts and people of Hong Kong to decide my fate. I have been given no reason to doubt your system."
